Can you Use a Netspend Card at any ATM?

Before we take a look at how to withdraw large amounts of money from your Netspend account, let’s first take a look at how to withdraw any money from your Netspend card.

In order to do this, we first need to take a look at whether, or not, Netspend cards are compatible with ATMs.

It is possible to use your Netspend card at most ATMs. But, it is important to note that not all ATMs will be compatible with Netspend cards. That is why we always recommend using the handy location finder on the Netspend website before you try to draw any money out. This function lets you type in your zip code, or give the website access to your location data, to tell you all the Netspend compatible ATMs in your area.

Most of the time, when you want to withdraw large amounts of cash, you will do so near home.

So, you will probably already have an idea of what ATMs are compatible with Netspend cards. But, using the location finder is always a good idea if you are in a new place.

Is there a Limit on the Amount of Money you can Withdraw from a Netspend Card?

As we have mentioned, yes, there are some restrictions on the amount of money that you can withdraw from your Netspend card. These restrictions cover single transactions, and they also cover set time periods.

So, if you want to withdraw a large amount of money from your account, it is important that you are aware of these restrictions well in advance.

Let’s begin by taking a look at the restrictions on ATM withdrawals. Most of the time, when you withdraw money from your account, you will not withdraw large amounts, and that is why you might not have been aware of the restrictions.

But, there are actually restrictions on the amount of money that you can withdraw from your account in a single transaction, and also on the amount, you can withdraw across 24 hours.

In a single transaction, you will not be able to withdraw more than $325 from your NetSpend Card. You will also be unable to withdraw any more than $940 in a 24-hour period. There is also a restriction on the number of ATM withdrawals you can do in 24 hours, so you will be unable to use an ATM more than 6 times during a 24-hour period.

Thankfully, purchase transactions and over-the-counter withdrawals allow you to take out more money from your account. For both of these transactions, the amount of money that you can use from your Netspend card is restricted to $4,999.99 per 24 hours.

So, if you want to withdraw an amount of money that is larger than this, you will need to spread the transactions over a couple of days.

How do I Withdraw Large Amounts from my Netspend Card

As you can see, there are 2 main methods that you can use to withdraw money from your Netspend account. You can either visit an ATM, or you can withdraw money over the counter.

When it comes to withdrawing large amounts, it is clear that withdrawing cash over the counter is a much better choice. Otherwise, it could take you more than a week to withdraw the necessary amount using an ATM due to the limits on the amount that you can withdraw.

If you have never withdrawn a large amount of money from your Netspend account before, you might be unfamiliar with over-the-counter transactions, so you might not know the best place to go.

Thankfully, the location finder on the Netspend website can be used to find over-the-counter locations near you. A good example of one of these is Walmart MoneyCenter.

At these locations, you will be able to withdraw up to $4,999.99 in a single transaction. But, it is probably worth ringing the location you plan on visiting before you visit in order to ensure they have sufficient funds to cover the transaction.

Then you simply have to visit the store and complete the transaction. It is worth noting, however, that a lot of over-the-counter money withdrawal centers will charge a fee on transactions. Especially larger transactions.

However, this fee usually isn’t too large.

If the amount that you want to withdraw is more than the limit, then you will have to complete multiple transactions over a number of days. But, it is important to note that the withdrawal limit is per 24 hours not per calendar day.

So, if you withdraw the full limit at 2 PM on a Thursday, you will not be able to withdraw money from your account until after 2 PM on Friday.

This aside, withdrawing money from your Netspend card is actually pretty easy. Even when the amount that you want to withdraw is large.

Summary

Withdrawing money from your Netspend account is simple, and you can do this using most ATMs.

But, if you want to withdraw large amounts of money, we would recommend using an over-the-counter location to withdraw your money as you can withdraw up to $4,999.99 per 24 hours from these locations.

Whereas the amount that you can withdraw from an ATM in 24 hours is much lower.
